These items are several pokes at Mrs. Black:
1. Toronto Star columnist Rosie DiManno weighs in on the delicate question of how Mrs. Black's glamour dovetails with her age.
2. A smiley report about Mrs. Black's lash-out. Also, a Manhattan blog proffers a backhanded compliment at the end of an entry on it.
3. A New York Post report on the incident, which, becuse its author, Janet Whitman, used the words "hissed," "rant" and "acidulous" on the first webpage of it, deserves a link-to in this post. (Thanks to Supermogul.com for the link to this item.)
4. Mrs. Black dug into for being "catty" herself, by this male blogger.
5. This opinion piece has a couple of catty comments directed at Mrs. Black from print sources.
6. Self-conscious cattiness, with respect to Mrs. Black, from Lorraine Sommerfeld. She also, un-self-consciously, lays into Conrad Black himself in that same piece.
7. A quick scratch in an entry at "Rambles."
Related to the above: a blog entry, which strikes an analytical perspective, that compares Mrs. Black to Anna Nicole Smith. This news story provides a brief round-up of blogger opinions in the last third of it. National Post journalist and old friend of Mrs. Black, Barbara Kay, has written a remonstrance directed at Ms. DiManno. And, in contrast to the list above, a blog post that is honestly admiring of Mrs. Black's looks.
